Goalie Pet Peeves

OK goalies, I want to hear what your best pet peeves are related to hockey. We all have 'em. I have about a 100 of them but here's 2.

1) Whenever a player scores on you and then celebrates like he just scored a game 7 Stanley Cup overtime winning goal. They will proceed with a glass breaking "YEAH!!". I tend to just stare at them with a bewildered look on my face until they are done with their idiocy. This pet peeve is even worse when you are up like 9-1. I just want to say, "Scoreboard."

2) And this has to do with the goalies. And a lot of you do it. I can't stand whenever a goalie makes a glove save and then flips the puck up in the air and catches on the outside netting of the glove. Then flips it to the referee. Come on guys. This was popular in the 80's and early 90's. Nobody does this anymore and it certainly doesn't look cool, just dated.

I think my pet peeve is making a great save and having a d-man sit there and watch while a forward taps in the rebound. Granted, on a truely great save there is no rebound, but the d-men (and woman) on my team last year had a bad habit of assuming I would either leave no rebound, cover if I did, or make an extra 3-4 stops while they hung out and watched the action. Grrr!

1. getting hit up high...in warmups...by your best shooter...

2. getting hit right in the *nutz* with the very first warmup shot when you are really stiff and cold

3. when the ref doesn't let you know if it is icing or not...either stick your arm up or wave it off!!!

4. FIGURE SKATING HOLES!!!

Nasty, totally agree with you on the tap-in's while your D-Men just wait for you to get control of it. Especially when they take
3-4 shots. If the D would knock that guy on their ass, they wouldn't have gotten those extra shots.

Also, another pet peeve of mine is 3 on nothing's. Yes, I have had a few of those. And believe it or not, I think I even had a 4 on nothing. They usually don't score however because they try to get fancy and usually screw up the scoring chance.

Strongly disagree. This has fallen out of favor because a lot of goalies either don't have the hand eye co-ordination to do it or are afraid they'll drop the puck and look stupid. The puck flip shows confidence in your own abilities.

I'm w/Bryan on this one. 'Sides, it's easier to flip the puck to the ref off the side of my glove than from inside. Hit a ref in the throat tossing it to him from inside the glove last year. Haven't done that since, but he still won't let me hear the end of it.

Flippy, twirly b!tches must DIE!!!! Waste of perfectly good icetime!

Sorry, little bitter about the fact that one of the local rinks never bothers to Boni the ice after figure skating practice. Actual quote from the zamboni driver: "They don't tear up the ice that bad". Let him get hit in the nuts 'cause a shot hit a hole and went end over end. Sheesh!

Players slashing on your trapper when you have the puck covered down on the ice for 5 seconds, or glove save with glove in the air and they slash at it. I had to inform a player at a drop in if he did it again (after 4 times in 5 minutes) that he wouldn't be able to walk or skate off the ice. GRRRRRR.

I agree. Did it, do it, won't stop doin' it.

I just hate it when they say "lāches pas". Means "don't quit".
It's the single most popular term used to cheer teamates up here. HATE IT! Who said anything about quitting ?? Don't worry about me, just do your job.

Another one is when they say "not your fault" after a goal.
Why don't you admit it's your fault instead dude !

Those are good....I hate it when forwards talk to you as if they could do better, stupid a$$holes....just do this....F off.....grumble grumble.

Oh, I also hate when some oaf runs you and does it on purpoDAMNIT !!!! IT'S SNOWING AGAIN!!!

SORRY

3 beauties...

1) I'd have to say the guy left alone in the slot, despite my screaming at the D-man

2) The butterfly slapshot that goes in, from some ankle-bender in a pick up game

3) The break-a-ways that take half an hour.... (also a p/u game)
