What about the classic
"thanks for the massage, dickface (or similar)"
you say it after the fight.

not a chirp, but...
Very funny nonetheless. Here's the situation... Game 7, 2 minutes left, down 3-2, face off in opponents end. Coach asked our center to look at their goalies stick to check on illegal curve (obviously looking to go up a man, and then 6 on 4 when the goalie came out). Our center comes back to the bench and says, "Sorry coach, its straighter than a morning erection".
We had to call a timeout to re-group because my coach (who never smiled) was laughing so hard...
Anyway, we lost.

Sorry I just didnt really see how those were hockey chirps as much as they were just generalized crowd chants mainly about drinking and not so much about hockey really. When I think of hockey chirps I think about talking crap at refs, swearing at opposing teams players, you know chirping. But I guess chirping means something different to some people. Thats cool. If yelling out drinking chants is how you raz the other team and their fans, thats cool, giver.
Sorry for my shots on college hockey, thats how a lot of people grew up with the game and if chanting, marching bands and cheerleaders are how you like to enjoy a game who am I to disagree with what you enjoy right? I mean to each there own, as I said i wasnt trying to start some big US/CAN argument or anything, it was just a comment.
In any event, the thread was about hockey chirps and I just didnt see how any of what Foxton said could really be construed as chirping aside from the calling a goalie a sieve but really... like I said, thats a pretty weak chirp.

Not trying to be funny. But why is it wrong to type a few "bad" words?

No you were taking a shot at Americans like you do at every opportunity. And like you just did in your second paragraph.

Now in regard to my own chirps, lol I play with this overweight guy from time to time and he plays D for me and just to bug him once in a while I will shout out "beep beep beep beep" when hes skating backwards.
Im typically a loud mouthed jackass to refs and the opposing teams whenever Im in shouting distance of the ice at games be it the university hockey we have here or my little brothers games, I just generally like giving refs a hard time I guess.
I can remember asking a ref when I was in minor hockey if this was a hobby or a job for him and when he was about to answer I said nah nevermind either way youre still a huge loser arent yah.
And I have a pretty good friendly fued going with a guy a lot of hockey against. He chirps me for being old and I chirp him for being short. A lot of really funny chirps come out of the situation. For example if I show that im tired he'll say "hey old man dont go too hard you might break a hip" or "would you like me to get you a walker with skates on it" and Ill come back him with cracks about how he uses childrens hockey sticks or how hes my favourite lawn gnome.
Nothing too brutal.

no actually my second paragraph was more so truth. College hockey has marching bands and crowd chanting and if thats how people enjoy a game then its fine by me, I have no right to talk crap on them. I realize that US college hockey is a completely different type of hockey culture and I apologize for not recognizing that in my earlier post.
Hey,, at least theres enthusiasm at US college hockey games man, but why cant this enthusiasm transfer into a lot of NHL markets down there? US college markets could teach some of the US NHL markets a thing or 2 in that regard.

You call that chirping?? I'm not sure what "minor" leagues you're playing in, but around here mouthing off to the officials like that (in something more than rec league) will get you a two and ten for unsportmans-like conduct.
It's one thing to come up with a witty remark - it's another to verbally abuse the officials. I have a feeling that you fall within the latter category.

I remember during a nationally televised NHL broadcast (they have those? ) they accidentally left the microphones on too long, and a player.. I think it might have been McCarty, called Brodeur a "fat ****."

Far and away my best chirp was in a beer league game. We were up by 4 with only a couple minutes left, and one of the other teams more obnoxious players had a "break-away" (my D could have caught him, but knew I was bored after only seeing 6 or 7 shots all game). Anyway, he hears my D coming and rushes his shot from the top of the circle. I made an easy glove save, and tossed the puck back to him quoting "The Crow" "Try again, try harder". Lucky for me I made the second save and controlled the rebound.
