Would you cross this?
NOT the place to glance at the View while Driving
The Millau viaduct is part of the new E11 expressway connecting Paris and Barcelona and features
the highest bridge piers ever constructed. The tallest is 240 meters (787 feet) high and the overall height will be an impressive 336 meters (1102 feet), making this the highest bridge in the world.

Driving over bridges is my biggest fear, by far. Even normal bridges like the bridges from Long Island to NYC make me tense up big time. When I was driving to Toronto, I had to go over a creation of Satan himself, the sky bridge. Then about an hour later I had to cross this giant bridge that seems to go straight up then down, with cross winds deluxe. I literally almost had a nervous breakdown.
So to answer the title question: no.

That thing is nuts. I'm prolly gonna go with no, unless it was absolutely necessary. I always bug out when I go over the Tapanzee bridge. The one side of it is practically right on the water. I hate the feeling of looking out of the car and being surrounded by water. Ironically, I love being on boats (!?). It is just a really creepy feeling I get.
Also, how would you like to be on this bridge?

The Tacoma Narrows bridge, which infamously collapsed after only 3 months since its opening day. Due to its location, the bridge recieved major resonance and on this unfortunate day began to oscillate, causing its collapse.

That's a crazy *** bridge. I saw a special on the making of it on the Discovery channel (I think). I actually think it would be pretty damn cool to drive over (minus the fact it's in France ).
And like most of you said, I also tend to tense up when driving on bridges, but only slightly and I do it subconsciously -- I don't know why because I'm not afraid of heights, and I know the structure must be safe. Maybe it's just due to the fact that the lanes are often narrower to I stiffen up while on the lookout for things I might hit? Who knows.
Sorry for the tangent!

There are some benefits to living in Cali...much to my relief, there's no way they'd ever build one of those here!
I am usually mezmerized by the view, and I have to fight the urge to look. If someone else is driving, I usually go bat**** whenever we come to an opening in a guardrail or deep drop. I remember when I saw the movie "The Two Towers", and I saw that scene where the Uruk-Hai army is marching towards Helms Deep at night, it looked just like the view at night from the San Bernadino/Los Angeles range.

I watched a documentary not that long ago on the making of that bridge. It's actually quite safe and that picture truly doesn't do it justice. It's a fairly wide bridge, very, very solid and the view is beautiful.
I'm a bit afraid of bridges, but that one is so well-done and just the view from it would be worth it to cross. Feel free to take the 3-4 hour detour otherwise

Bridges are weird. I would rather drive across that bridge than drive across a small typical draw bridge. Those damn draw bridges scare the living **** out of me I am always terrified it will open up when I drive across. I go across one everyday I go to work, and sometimes I am stopped in the middle of the bridge dueto traffic or a light, and I start sweating and almost **** my pants. NOT COOL!

My second wife was petrified of bridges & tunnels. Anytime we went over one, I would drive with my left knee and take my hands off the wheel, just to mess with her.
For some odd reason, she's my ex wife now...
