What a bunch of whining haters. I'd bet that 99% of you who are blasting Roy (Jr and Sr) for this would run to the locker room scared if the opposing goalie charged down the ice at you.
It's hockey, fighting happens. Clean the sand out of your collective vaginas and get over it!

Well, I play with some old-time hockey goons from the NHL (Jack Carlson, Mike Peluso, Dave Richter, Reed Larson etc...). I've learned a thing or two from them over the last several years. One of those things is that you don't kick the crap out of an unwilling opponent unless you are doing it as part of "the code" for something that player did to one of your players.
Somehow, I doubt that the goalie mini-Roy went after did anything ass-whupp'n worthy.
It has nothing to do with nets, visors or hits to the head during play.

I'm an old man, but I would kick the **** out of him just because his daddy told him to come mess with me. I'd kick his daddy's ass too. THEN I'd clean out my vajayjay.

My point being, we have a thread full of haters slinging all sorts of mud at Roy Sr. (who just happens to be the best ever) and now his kid. If I was in a game like that I'd do the same damn thing, whether the coach instructed me to or not!
Fights happen in hockey. Nad(less)eau should've had the balls to defend himself! All this "charge him with assault" business is balderdash! It's a friggin hockey game! It's not like he beat him with a broom handle or pulled an uzi on him! It's not like used his stick or any other piece of his goaltending equipment as a weapon. In my mind, the ONLY time an assault charge should ever even be discussed in reference to a hockey game is when a stick or another piece of equipment that could be considered a weapon is involved. Otherwise, you're playing in a hockey game, and fighting is part of the territory.

See my above post. I'm inclined to listen to what guys who have spent hours in the penalty box at the NHL level say instead of listening to you, but hey, you're entitled to your opinion.

Nah, because in real life, I'm a lot better fighter than I am a goalie.
