I've gotta agree with you on this. Clearly after two lopsided games the Ramparts have got to be frustrated and a line brawl wasn't that surprising. However, standing there with your arm draped casually a crossed the crossbar while someone fights off a ref to get to you is a pretty stupid thing to do. You may not want to fight, but you've got to make sure that you protect yourself. Clearly the refs weren't capable of protecting him.

Fights happen in hockey. Nad(less)eau should've had the balls to defend himself! All this "charge him with assault" business is balderdash! It's a friggin hockey game! It's not like he beat him with a broom handle or pulled an uzi on him! It's not like used his stick or any other piece of his goaltending equipment as a weapon. In my mind, the ONLY time an assault charge should ever even be discussed in reference to a hockey game is when a stick or another piece of equipment that could be considered a weapon is involved. Otherwise, you're playing in a hockey game, and fighting is part of the territory.

I won't even bother answering that.

I'm still feeling sorry for the guy that must have drawn the short straw and had to go and "kick Clyde's ass".

Don't know if it was mentioned before, but the series is tied 1-1 between Les Rempart and Les Saguenéens.

The Linesman restrained him twice, and warned him to get back to his crease. The fact that he disregarded that and ventured down to the other end of the ice should be a suspendable offense all by itself, before you even factor the other crap in.

With the Remparts trailing 7-1 near the end of the second period of their playoff game on Saturday, players on both sides began to brawl. The younger Roy skated towards Chicoutimi netminder Bobby Nadeau, but was held back by two on-ice officials.

According to reports, it was at that point that father Patrick told his son to go after Nadeau. Jonathan Roy skated towards the opposing netminder and landed a series of punches without any retaliation, then saluted the opposing fans before starting another fight with defenceman Sebastien Rioux.

Roy, one of three goaltenders used in the game by his father, got a game misconduct.

Chicoutimi won the game 10-1, evening up the best-of-seven series at a game apiece.

Jonathan looks a lot like his dad.

I am just curious, but I have to wonder what Nadeau was doing when Roy was jacking and pointing at him. Maybe just did a little "look up at the score you knob"..."7-1, I have already beat you Shirley...go pound sand".

The vids I have seen don't show any of that, but I just have to wonder.

I watched a game between them, last weekend I think (but could have been the weekend before), that was a blow out for Chicoutimi. That was the second loss that I was referring to.

The third goalie didn't dress until the second period from what I read.

So everyone who plays hockey should expect to get into a fight regardless of if they are willing to do so or not? Take your head out of your ass (or your lips off off either of the Roy's) and think about what you are saying. The only time an assault charge should be discussed is if a weapon is used? Good to know you'd "do the same damn thing weather the coach instructed you to or not" - man it's so cool to be a tough guy over the interwebs eh? I'll bet you play with pro players and stone them all, stop like 75 shots every game you play and 'would have made the show but....'.

Honestly just stop.
