Roy's kid beats the snot out of Nadeau
The spirited rivalry between the QMJHL's Quebec Remparts and Chicoutimi Sagueneens reached a new low on Saturday, and once again, a Roy was front and centre.
This time, however, it wasn't Quebec head coach Patrick Roy, but his son Jonathan who plays goal for the Remparts.
With the Remparts trailing 7-1 near the end of the second period of their playoff game on Saturday, players on both sides began to brawl. The younger Roy skated towards Chicoutimi netminder Bobby Nadeau, but was held back by two on-ice officials.
According to reports, it was at that point that father Patrick told his son to go after Nadeau. Jonathan Roy skated towards the opposing netminder and landed a series of punches without any retaliation, then saluted the opposing fans before starting another fight with defenceman Sebastien Rioux.
Roy, one of three goaltenders used in the game by his father, got a game misconduct.
Chicoutimi won the game 10-1, evening up the best-of-seven series at a game apiece.

Are you kidding? That was pathetic. #21 on the Remparts should be applauded. Way to keep punching a guy as you're laying on top of him on the ice. ****ing coward. And Roy's son? You celebrate because you fought a guy who had zero intention of fighting you?
I'm all about scrums and fights but that was weak.

Chicoutimi won the game 10-1
thats really all that matters. Roy is going to sooner or later get laid out I hope it's by a Chicoutimi player next year. I'd love to see that. I love fights but like in the last post you gotta fight back regardless because you'll get you a$$ beat if you sit there..  |

The other guy has to actually throw a punch to get a chance to lay out Roy, and that didn't even happen. He was too busy doing his impersonation of a turtle. Plus the video shows Roy's kid taking care of another kid who went after him as well, so I give him props. I was never a Roy fan either. Just thought it was funny. |

Seeing as a Roy actually won this fight, looks like Jonathan learned more from watching dad vs mom than dad vs Vernon/Osgood.

I could see calling the kid a bully, but the only "pussah" in the video had "Nadeau" on his back.
When someone is continually punching you in the face you do something about it. I feel worse for Nadeau's dad. He has to live seeing/hearing about that for a while. |

It didn't look like Nadeau wanted any. He didn't even attempt to step back. How "french". 
I just think it's a pussah thing to do when the other guy clearly doesn't want any, nor was asking for any. Maybe he was smart mouthing Roy and giving him some lip, that I could see. But other than that, Roy's a pussah, just like his old man.
Goes all the way down to the other goal. If the other guy wanted to fight he'd have come out.
Hits the other guy repeatedly, even though the other guy has no intention of fighting.
Hits the other guy when he's already down on the ice. How cool.
Oh yeah... Jonathon...

Well I have no love for Roy, but when someone is pummeling you, you HAVE to defend yourself. I could see the kid standing there till he starts taking them in the face, but then you gotta do something. I wonder if Nadeau's dad is going to take him out to the barn tomorrow and teach him how to fight ala Mr. Youngblood? HAHAHAHA |

Classless.
Folks, that was NOT a fight. It was more of an assault.
I don't care who's son he is-Throw him out of the league.
Yeah the guy didn't defend himself. Doesn't that make it even worse? If the guy had throw a shot back then yeah, the multitude of punches Roy threw would have AT LEAST been justified.
But instead he decides to pummel they guy while he turtles, AFTER shaking of the Ref and skating 180 feet down the ice and attacking, if not assaulting his counterpart.
And then he ends it by giving the finger to the crowd and getting in another fight.
Apparently after the game he was interviewed and swore at reporters and said he wasn't sorry at all about the incident. He and Patrick, who apparently sent him after the other goalie, should be suspended IMO.
I'll say it again...Classless.

Having to play with Angela Esposito is probably going to be a better punishment than anything the ballless wonders running the Q could ever hand out.
