I too thought it was a goal but there was not a sufficient shot to prove it without a doubt.

we also never saw this angle on any replay so I don't think it was available. It looks like a still from the corner boards.

Sweet. Cut down to 2-1! Is it me, or is the D for Philly lacking badly.......or is it possibly just the quickness of the Pens?

What a relief!
I thought I was going to have to go to the dairy aisle to see Brierre and Umberger.

"King Henry V" by William Shakespeare.
Act 3.
Scene 1.
"Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more..."
Or in Philly speak... The Pens bent the Flyers over again... And no, they didn't leave any change on the stump.

Outclassed.
Outplayed.
Outcoached.
For the first time in my life I'll be rooting for the Red Wings.
I fully accept that we're going to lose this series, but it would be nice to lose while not getting screwed. The amount of sh*t Pittsburgh is getting away with is ridiculous. We're not going to beat this team, so why let them get away with this crap?

Well considering it's our biggest weak spot to begin with, then you fully remove the two only glimmering spots on a shoddy defense, and what do you expect? It's like letting the Western Allstars have a field day with Our Lady Hopes Girls Junior Varsity squad.

Every 33 years, an ordinary hockey team does something extraordinary.
'42 Leafs
'75 Islanders
'08 Flyers
All-time series record of teams down 0-3 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs after this year:
3-147
3+1+4+7 = 15
305.28 miles from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh
3+5+2+8 = 18
Philadelphia Flyers = 12 + 6 = 18
15+18 = 33
Other reasons:
Mike Richards: #18
Michael Richards = 7 + 8 = 15
18+15 = 33
Sami Kapanen: #24
9 Playoff goals as a Flyer
24+9 = 33
Martin Biron: #43
Marty Biron = 5 + 5 = 10
43-10 = 33
Vinny Prospal: #40
33 years old
33 goals in '07-08
33 career playoff points
Injured Flyers:
Braydon Coburn, #5
Kimmo Timonen, #44
Simon Gagne, #12
5
44
12
Tens: 4-1 = 3
Ones: 5-4+2 = 3
33, 33, 33, 33, 33...
Last game 4 against Pittsburgh:
Brian Boucher (#33) won in 5OTs against Pittsburgh.
Keith Primeau, (#25) scores in 5OTs, to beat the Penguins 2-1.
25+5+2+1 = 33
The Flyers lost by 3 goals in the 3rd game this year... 33
"3 is the first number that repeats in Pi, making it 33."
"Rolling Rock Beer has "33" printed on the label."
Alexander the Great died at the age of 33. (Ovechkin?)
The Montreal Canadiens are 99 years old, a multiple of 33.
"This number has the meaning that good will always triumph over evil."
And, most importantly, it has been 33 years since the Flyers have hoisted the cup.

I don't care what anyone thinks, but hot damn the Pens are AWESOME!!! These are exciting times for the Penguins and their fans. I'm just hopeing the Red Wings suffer some huge injuries before the Cup Finals.

My life has undergone some rapid and drastic changes recently, so I have been too busy to participate much on the BB.
Soon I will have a new job, a new home, and a new lifestyle.
While I look forward to these new changes, I also appreciate the consistent routine of life--the reliability of certain events occurring time after time, like for example, the coming of spring...
I appreciate that while change is inherent in life, life also possesses some things that just DON'T change:

I firmly believe that Gloatfest is coming, my friends.
If we have the happy opportunity to share in this communal tradition, there will be a new twist this year with Gloatfest.
This year, we will celebrate The Mother of All Gloatfests.
Change and reliability, my friends.
Change and reliability.
