^It's not the Jets or the Sharks, but looks like a rumble about to happen.

NHL needed both series to go to 5 games so that they could get two more NBC telecasts.

Look for Pitt and Det to win the next games.

At least it's not a sweep, and better yet, it didn't happen on home ice.

I don't expect this to go much further, but I'm just really glad they made it 3-1 instead of 4-0.

Timonen and Coburn might be available for sunday's game. It should be a very interesting game.

and another source: ESPN - Philly's top defenders Timonen, Coburn may play in Game 5 - NHL

I just hope he comes back and nothing happens to him. Would be a shame for him to cause a more serious injury with that clot just to come back....

Somehow I knew the Flyers would clear him....

I hope he gets a second opinion, for his own sake.

And, uh, wow, talk about playing with fire...

And this from the same doctors that told Lindros he was fine to play and wasn't at a greater risk of a concussion.

The point is that Philadelphia's medical staff are notorious for downplaying the severity of their stars' injuries to get them back in the lineup. I don't know what effect Clarke has on it, but it seems like something he has been a part of.

Agreed on the Clarke influence.

I really don't like the sound of what Timonen said. Wouldn't a clot in the left leg be in prime territory to get to the lungs/brain? I really don't think a stroke is worth it at this point if so.

And no, I'm not a doctor, so if I'm blowing this out of proportion, feel free to put me in my place.

Not a doctor either, but my dad has/ had a few clots... Doctors at hospital don't even want to touch him in the area of a clot for weeks.

Don't forget the blood thinners used to break up the clot. Jesus, if Timonen gets cut he could bleed out on the ice.

I guess they aren't giving him any thinners to dissolve it yet.

Sorry to hear your dad has them. From the little I know, it's not fun...

The more I think about this, the more I'm guessing he's not playing. It just seems like mindgames right now.
