The Wings have been getting rediculous calls since '97. That 3rd goal was rediculous...

You guys are right. the game really should have been won with a score of 3-1.

So, I know it's only one game and I'm taking it one at a time, but i can't tell...

Was that a cake walk?

Then I guess a Canadian team should have stepped it up?

Honestly who cares? The game was over, people left. They were looking forward to not being in Detroit and who can blame them for that.

Anyone know why McCarty didn't play? Maltby was in the line up instead.

Because Maltby sucks just a touch less than McCarty.

Maltby is on the PK unit and D-Mac is not is what I think the real answer is.

I'm surprised that there's this much outrage about a call that could have went either way (and most likely will before the series is over) and was marginal goaltender inference at best. He didn't stop Turco from establishing position and if there was contact it was minor to say the least.

If Ryan Smyth does that he's the greatest net front player in the league, but it was a Red Wing eh...

There was like 30 empty seats in the lower bowl, mind you, these were sold seats, but some rich ****er didn't use them.

Now shut the f up and watch the Wings dominate.

Looked like business as usual for the Wings. Healy was saying the Stars were still tired from Sunday night....that's more than 3 days ago. O.K., I'll buy it. Only Ott showed up for the Stars, who generally looked like a minor league team. I'm sure Dallas fans and the Wings expect a different team to show up Saturday night.

Of course he stopped him from establishing position. Two people can't be in the same place at the same time. Turco probably would have liked to be at the top of the crease for that shot, though he still may have been screened and it still may have gone in.

The point is you're not supposed to stand in the crease without the puck, contact or no contact. But the league wants goals and they don't want anyone doing anything in front of the net to stop that. Just another slip along the slope against goaltenders.

get some manners.

There were plenty of visible empty seats at the start of the game as well. Sure the seats are probably sold but it is concerning for an area that has quality hockey, to be lacking in the fan department. I thought I was watching a new jersey game but with scoring.

Actually, and I found this out when I snuck down behind the bench with Rockhell.

These empty seats are actually the suite/box seats.

Yes not only do these rick ass holes get a nice suite or box to watch the game in they also have the option of lower bowl seating.

SO

You are a client who really can give two snickerdoodles about hockey your just there for the free booze and smoozing, where are you gonna sit?

The whole second row behing the bench is the Bell Tire suite's WTF save those seats for the tru fans!!

It is 200 bucks a seat right now for rows 5 through 20 in the lower bowl, about 275 for rows 1 through 4

Good analysis on the Maltby/McCarty thing. Dallas was very strong on the PP in rounds 1 and 2 from what I recall, thus the need for Maltby.

But I'll have to disagree with you on your view of the goalie interference non-call. He was definitely feet in the blue and even worse, his a$$ as even further into the blue than that. Like Alec states, I highly doubt that Turco would have been that deep in the net for a shot from there.

I will freely admit to watching that play through Red Wing colored glasses and after seeing 57 different replays, it probably should have been called.

All this talk about Holmstrom's left skate in the blue paint.....so later in the series his feet won't be in there and he'll get called for interference or a goal will be waved off. Of course Turco didn't even fight for position or lay on the lumber and in the new N.H.L. a d-man can barely touch someone in front of the keeper. If I was a Stars fan or a lover of great hockey, I would be more outspoken about the fact that Dallas forgot to show up for the game.
