Devil's advocate

As the DA, I wonder if this could become a rallying point for Dallas?

I don't think that what Osgood did, comes even close to what Turco has been doing throughout the whole game.

Elaborate on this. Osgood is certainly no angel but he's never really been a dirty tender so I'm curious to what your seeing that would give you that opinion?

He's been taking shots at guys all series. Nothing as bad as what he did to Ribeiro, but definitely unnecessary shots. He nailed I believe Ott in the back at the end of the first last night and Ott was just skating by about 3 ft from the front of the crease. Ott turned around to have some words for him and Osgood skated away like nothing happened. Contact is to be expected but Osgood has been going a little overboard at times. The butt-end there is exactly what I'm talking about. You do that kind of thing and you can only expect to have some kind of retaliation whether you're a goalie or not. I have nothing against Osgood, but if you don't want to get hit then don't hit other guys. It's not like he's been getting run from any of the bits of games I've had a chance to see.

So by this logic, I don't even want to imagine what Turco has coming for him.

Does anyone remember when they wanted to suspend Iginla at the end of the playoffs last year for a butt end to the side of a player? I'm curious as to why Osgood could get away with one to the face. I'm not saying that Ribiero shouldnt be punished, but its a two way street if you ask me.

Aw, c'mon now. All Osbad do was hold his stick up so Ribero would have to go around or make contact. Ozzie was in the crease and you see goalies do it all the time. It just isn't at the end of the game but usually when the D is behind the net getting ready to start a break out and the forechecker is buzzing the net. Ribero chose to skate into the stick. He probably didn't even see it. Ozzie needs to get a new C&A though..

Yep, Turco has taken many more liberties than Osgood has. The hits to the back of the head, and I can't remember the player who Turco tripped as he skated backwards near the crease.

But that's ok, I guess, since he's not on the Wings.

The only problem is that Turco hasn't gotten into the heads of the Wings like Osgood has the Stars players, apparently.

So I wonder who really is doing the better job of it?

Well, at least so far. Still only two games. But if the Wings do win this series, the only thing some people will talk about is how cheap Osgood is, etc. etc.

Riebero and Osgood are both idiots, suspend them both for two games.

I guess something needs to make this series exciting, maybe that was the spark that will turn the series from snorific to watchable.

As long as the Wings are winning it's exciting.
