NHL fixing games??

while i was watching the disgraceful loss of my rangers i noticed alot of things....
1.refs missed many apparent calls for example drury gets slashed and bleeds all over the ice no call. at the end of the game he gets a double minor for the same thing. another example in overtime crosby dose a give and go and is clearly offsides no call. one more example the penguins net is knocked off no call the penguins continue on and score i think the officiating was terrible.
now im not making excuses for the rangers loosing they made no offense in over time. it seems to me bettmen wanted sideny crosby and malkin in the finals. i didnt think the rangers got a fair call the whole series. im not bashing the penguins i just want to hear others opinions on this series.

i think so (its not cause i am a ranger fan) any team who plays the penguins would have got hosed. i think bettmen wants the new "face" of the NHL to win the cup.

How many conspiracy theories do we really need?

The officiating has been horrible in every game, not just the ranger games. Just like in '94 when everybody said the league was fixing stuff so the Rangers could win, it was baloney then, its baloney now . Get over it.

If you watch the play it's actually Rozival (sp) who knocks the stick into Drury's face. In the Ref's defence he was completely screened from the play by the Rangers d-man. Unfortunate that Drury got called for it later in the game but it was right in front of the Ref.

another example in overtime crosby dose a give and go and is clearly offsides no call.

Close call there. I would agree it was offside but it's an easy call to make while your sitting in your lazyboy watching the replay.

Absolutely correct call by the official! The net was knocked off by a Rangers player. The Penquins got control and broke out of the zone. The Ref will not compromise an offensive opportunity for the attacking team because the other team knocks the net off behind the play.

From the NHL Rulebook: "When the net is accidentally displaced by an attacking player, and the defending side is in possession of the puck and moving out of their zone, play shall be permitted to continue until such time as the non-offending team losses possession of the puck."

refereeing is very subjective in hockey and ive been a part of enough poorly handled games (granted not at the NHL level) that I believe the benefit of the doubt has to be given to just poor reffing. Also, there are a couple "new face of the NHL teams" including Montreal and Washington the latter of which got hosed. Odds are one of them would get more than a 50-50 split from coincidence.

I do not think the games are fixed but all I know is if anybody watched the Dallas / Sharks game last night, that's the way a playoff game should be reffed.

That was a absolutely great hockey game because they let the boys play.

It was like watching 2 different leagues playing.

It was fun watching and posting with some of the guys here at 230 in the morning or whatever tome it was.

If you don't see a difference between those games, I don't know what you are watching.

And yes I am a Ranger fan and what I wrote has absolutly nothing to do with my views.

I was over the Rangers about 10 seconds after they lost.
