Just watching the Memorial Cup game of Kitchener vs Gatineau. I noticed Steve Mason is not in net for the Rangers. What happened? Is he hurt? I searched the threads here for his name and nothing came up about him not playing. I even looked on the Rangers website and it doesn't say anthing. Just wondering.

He's injured. Hurt his knee about a month ago. Unice is a really good goalie too.

He looked ok in tonight's game. Is Mason done for season? Most likely with only a maximum of 4 more games left in the season.

i heard that he is fine now but the rangers are goin with the guy that got them to the mem cup when mason was injured

Tore the ligaments in his knee - done for the year... Glad they have Unice as an insurance chip.

I also read that the team that owns his rights (can't remember if it's Columbus or nashville?) brought him in to be checked out and they didn't want to risk further injury. I think they shut him down. mason played w/the bad knee through the first 2 games of the first 2 rounds of playoffs and then Unice played the game 3's. I read that Mason's knee locked up on him in a game.
