I'm in a tournament this weekend, and just got home from game 1. A 7-0 win, and my first shutout ever.

For an old guy like me who didn't even start skating until I was 21, I can't tell you what a thrill it was. My team played incredible in front of me, and I only had 10 saves, but my half of the scoreboard said "0" when the final horn sounded for the first time in my hockey career. And you darn well better believe I got the game puck!!!!!!

Game 2 tonight. 6-1 win. Gave one up high stick side. Trailing D got the puck and shot from inside the circle. Puck went through 2 people before I even saw it.

But we won. 2 more games to go.

Congrats! I haven't gotten many shutouts in my career and I still remember my first. It never gets old, either.

WE WON!!

We won the tournament for our division!

5-1 final. The goal I gave up was during a powerplay (theirs). I saw the wind up and the shot, and then my defenceman came across and I lost the shot. Never saw the puck. Heard the "DING" as the puck rang in the net off the post. We were up 3-0 at that point.

Shoulda kept my mouth shut...lost 8-4 tonight. In fairness, it was expected as they're a much better team and I didn't have much help. Ah well, next league starts tomorrow night!

Had a GAA under 1.00 my senior year in HS...but that was 13 years ago, and I don't recall too many shutouts since then.

I got a shutout in my first ever game in net (a weak opponent in the playoffs). That was 2 months ago, I haven't won since. I should have quit while I was ahead.

Congrats! It took me awhile (about 2 years actually) before I got my first but after that first one, I got 3 shutouts in my next 4 games. Once you pop, you can't stop!

I got my first shutout in field hockey in the first year that I played.

Believe it or not, I didn’t get any during the season .. but got two during the provincials in my first year! I was so proud and I used to have the field hockey balls but have since lost them.

I have two this year for ball hockey! Looking forward to more ... :P
