hmm I didn't know that. I'm only a member at two boards. this one and the forum that talks about the software this site uses.

I wanted to check out the welcome message that users get before being granted full membership privileges. It read something like

Sean, this is a good idea. to add to this. we have some guys on here who seem to like to help out the newbes. this will give them the chance to see who is new and maybe offer them any help with understanding the board rules better. you can look at it as a chance to "adopt a newbe" let him meet you on here and help him out

hello,
i'm kind of new here...
my name is Lode, 27 years old (almost 28) and for 22 years now i'm a goalie.
i'm dutch but i live in belgium, close to the dutch border, i'm married and i got 3 cats no kids.
i work as a designer, graphic, interior and furniture also a bit of industrial design.
i work fulltime as a designer for a multinational. in my spare time i run a designbureau called RAW.

the fun part, i'm currently transferring back from rec hockey to League hockey.(on popular demand)
i've played in the highest devision in holland and belgium, being the ere (honour) devision. i quited that to get a good degree, that i have now . i'm more of a realist, knowing i would play hockey against small payment untill i was 35 and having to do a job i don't like untill i'm 65. or quite hockey on a high level and enjoy it on a more recriational base and keep doing both things i love (design and hockey) untill i can't no more.
i also played 9 years for the dutch national junior teams, until my 21st.
won a lot of cups, lost a lot of games as well

my nick, well i've had a lot off nicks, started with "shadowman", reason: i was 6 the rest of the guys in my league where twice that age and i found out they could shoot much harder as well. so i learned to be really really fast to avoid collision with the puck on my body and catch it with the non painfull parts, gloves and pads. which isn't really so good but i did learn to be quick

later on my brother who went to canada twice, ones with les gouverneurs(hope that is spelled right)
and ones with beauport harfangs, Chicoutimi broncos(?) and st henri rmb. but he had a hard time (homesick) so he returned, he is a gifted forward and a hell of a good guy. he brought me back a jersey and cap of marcel cousineau, of his harfang periode and i had it one every practise, so people started to call me cousineau (especially my former coach, rené labonté the craziest canadian i ever met)

later i got the nick "punisher" i got it because i was the nut to save the unsaveble, i was gifted with a slinky as a backbone and got pucks out even if the players already past me. my teammate (a fin) said i really punished players for thinking it was easy scoring, it kind of sticked and soon people started to call me pun. or punisher.

so that is the history of me.

any funny or sarcastic remarks are welcome.

Hello, my real name is Raymond.
- I started playing goal about six years ago.
- Usually just play with two different groups of guys each week (Seneca & East York).
- Usually do not play league because I need a consistent schedule because ->
- I've got two young girls, 2 1/2 and 4 1/4 (22 months apart) and the best wife in the world (in my opinion).
- I live and work in Toronto.
- Commodity Tax Consulting.
