Watch the part where he disclocates his thumb then pulls it back into the correct placement... that was pretty neat to watch!

In Brets book, he talks alot about his friendship with Taker and how he is one of the few people in the business he considered a true friend and someone he could trust well. I guess thats why they had some really great matches!

Taker always was the Sheriff in the locker room.

I always wondered why former WWF's wrestlers were all telling me that Bret was feared in the locker room. I knew he was a great amateur wrestler and I knew he was mean, but it's just recently that I've noticed how strong he was, as mentioned in my previous post.

I've wrestled Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart 2 years ago, and I forgot about it, but he said one of the nicest thing about me to my friends, long story short, my friends went out with him at a near by bar, and while drinking, they asked him what he's thinking about his opponent (me). Neidhart said: "he's just like Dynamite Kid, very similar in many ways".

If you know a bit about 80's wrestling, Dynamite Kid was one of the best wrestlers ever. You know, Chris Benoit wrestled just like Dynamite and he was one of the top wrestlers. So now, imagine, the same wrestler, same energy and same moves, but in the early 80's!!! He was 20 years ahead of his time. So you can now understand how I feel about that compliment. My friend called me the very next day to tell it to me, I didn't believed him at first, but when I met my other friends later, they all said the same thing.

Now, Saturday is our big event, I'm part of a triple main-event thing. You know, when I first started wrestling, I've never been nervous before a show, but now, I get more and more nervous, to like I used too when playing Major Junior Hockey, but still. I'm not nervous for me though, I know what I have to do and how I will react and how the crowd will react to me. But I asked to writing committee to give me feuds with rising stars so I can give them the last little push before placing them in the top spot. I want it to work so much for them, that makes me nervous. That's why I've been watching old tapes for 3-4 days, working on details to make the whole match smoother and more complex at the same while still being easy to see and understand.

I'm watching for details from the 80's. I try to find what makes it so emotionally intense in some old matches that today's guys aren't doing anymore. I'm learning a lot from Bret Hart, Jake the Snake and some guys like Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham and Ric Flair.

But I always try to adapt it to the modern style of wrestling.

I think a lot of it had to do with the time these guys wrestled to, there was a lot more they could do in a 25 - 30 minute match that cant be done in the classic 10 - 15 ppv match... there was lots of time for back and forth action, where one guy would take the lead for a few minutes, only to have the opponent make a comeback and then be in control... also, the guys of old seemed to wrestle for the passion of the business and not the money... I have often heard guys like flair say he would give it his all if it was for 15 people, or 50,000 and watching some of his old matches from "Wrestling at the Chase" some of those guys put on great matches in front of 100 people! Matches, that you could only imagine how well they would go over infront of 50,000

I remember seeing a Steamboat vs. Flair match done in a TV studio that was fantastic..

You want to know how wrestling works?

Well, the guy who's doing Saturday's Main-Event (in 2 days) just called and he tore a pec real bad yesterday and he won't be able to wrestle at all!!!!

Talk about 3 months of building up a feud being thrown in the trash can. Our most important match is doomed. What can we do?

Re-write things up and hope we'll find a GREAT idea to patch a match that was advertised for 2 months now. Damn I didn't need this.

alright I have a question this really isn't wrestling related per say. I wrestled all through out high school. I was always around 130-145 pounds when i wrestled. I've always played hockey and I've always tried to gain weight. Yet its hard for me to gain weight. Right now im 5'8 and about 152. Do you have an suggestions on how to bulk up? Obviously you have done a great job adding muscle mass. I saw a picture of you when you were younger and you were small and then you beefed up so much. Any tips or anything would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John

If he could make the show and have some sort of altercation earlier in the evening... where he is injured by some of your friends who thought they were just softening the guy up for you so you could steal an easy victory over the opponent. But the friends went to far and injured the opponent really bad and he had to be taken to hospital... this would also legitimize the injury...

As long as you didnt show his face, technically it wouldnt even have to be him getting beat on... I dont know if you do live video etc at your shows, but you could just show him or the body double being loaded into a vehicle heading to the hospital....

Then you would get all mad and upset with the "thugs" call them out to the ring and state that you didnt need any help, the opponent was going to be light work for chakal anyhow, and Chakal not only could beat the injured opponent easilly, but he could take on the two thugs in a 2 on 1 New York City Street fight...

Towards the end of the match, which would be totally controlled by Chakal could someone does a run in (from the crowd would be idea), wearing the same street clothes that the persone taken to the hospital was wearing but this time he was in a mask or disquise of some sort.

He takes you out by parting your hair with a tire iron...(a little juice here would be perfect) the masked man quickly exits (right out of the building)
Leaving the audience to question, was the opponent really hurt, or was it all a big conspiracy to try to put Chakal out of wrestling and the NCW. As well as leaving the possibility for the fued to continue...

Your fans likely are all too young to remember the Midnight Rider angle done in the NWA 20 years or more ago! But you could do something like that.

Sorry to hear that Chakal!

I think Scott has the right idea with that beatdown scenario! What about having a battle royal to see who gets to be apart of the main event with Chakal instead?

Exactly what I was thinking. A real injury is a classic opportunity to make the feud even bigger rather than killing it off. Even when the guy comes back, he can milk the injury and use to to his advantage (weapons hidden in the arm sling, always an excuse as to why he's ducking you for a match, but has no problem suckering you from behind, etc).

Sorry to hear that Chakal. Tough situation. Hope things work out well. I'm sure they will.

It would be pretty fun & also pretty stressful to come up with ideas all the time like that.

I like Scott's idea of the "mystery man" from the crowd, best one I ever saw was with Scott Hall & the NWO for the first time... that was cool, but how can you repeat that?

I think the best thing to do in that situation is tell the crowd he blew up in a freak taxi accident, then have him come back once he's all healed up & say he has a midget son. It worked wonders for Vince McMahon

I watch TNA sometimes, but rarely if ever WWE.

Only people i find worth watching in WWE is Jeff/Matt Hardy, Rey Mysterio(where is he anyway) and HBK.

Also where the hell is Billy Kidman? Billy Kidman/Rey Mysterio is definatly my favorite tag team ever=P. I know i like random people.

Not too random. Sounds like you just like the high flyin' cats. Which is why if you aren't familiar with damn near every match Rey ever had with Eddie Guererro, go find them on youtube NOW!
