Jim,
Not many things stick around after a good ass kicking like you gave, but I guaran-damn-tee it'll run for the hills after a second thumping you're about to lay on it.
Keep positive, you've come too far to let some chump brain-slug stop you from doing the things you want to do.

I just wanted to tell a quick story-
Last year at about the time your original thread came up I put "Never quit Jim" on the paddle of my sticks (Older wood paddle brians altralites). I usually bust about one a month with routine ice time. Well, to keep it short, I've been playing with my original stick for about, what, 4 months now??? While it may have some splinters and puckmarks, it's still holding true.
Coincidence? Think not...

Kick its ass!
Hey Jim,
I wanted to thank you again for coming out to play with my shinny-guys last month. You played fantastic and seem like a great guy - that's why I asked you to play for our winter season. When you called and told me what was happening in your life and that you couldn't play, I was stunned and didn't know what to say. I don't know you well but from what I've seen, you're a nice guy with a good heart and a lot of friends here. You've been in my thoughts and prayers since you told me. With the skills, friends and support you have you should kick this things ass!
BTW - you're welcome to play with us anytime, just go a little easier on us!
Take care,
Bitter

From the bottom of my soul
Thank you...I just cannot describe how much this all means to me. There have been dark times every day since I found out and when I hit those times and I am near a computer, I jump on the board and read all the posts, start to finish.
I am trying to be as courageous as possible for my family and have felt better these past few days. The feeling of possibly losing partial eyesight, although still strong, has diminished somewhat. If that is what it takes for them to find out what this thing is, then so be it. If it is going to either rid me of this thing or point me in the right direction towards treatment, then so be it. I just want this crazy ride over. Losing the ability to drive and play hockey is not as important as my life (although hockey is VERY close)
I found out that surgery is scheduled for the 29th of this month (the time has not been set yet).
Bless you all for thinking of me and sending your well wishes...they truly help so much.
Jim
