Hey Goaler! My skills are corporate investigations but more recently working at an independant sporting goods store as their sales floor manager (since replaced) for 4 years. I was thinking of becoming a hired assassin but I cannot drive because of my eyesight. It would make going to "hits" a little weird on public transit.

Jim, excellent news on your progress! Sorry to hear about the goalie retirement, but you're winning in the biggest game of all. I still wear your patch every game.

Keep the hurt on that thing!

in that case, how many would in fact be "hits" rather than misses?

Glad to hear positive news. I am often asked "Hey, whats the patch for?". This reminds me to send positive vibes as well be thankful for everytime I am able to play between the pipes, even in the midst of an 11 goal beat down. (Maybe this has something to do with that puck tracking thing you guys were talking about).

Sounds like your health is on the upswing, so your employment status should be not far behind.

Keep on keepin on!

So instead of a line like, "There's a buum in my ruum," I can flip it to say, "There's a buum on your seet."

It would depend entirely upon where you shot the movie...if it was out here in So Cal, you have to do it like this," Hey mang, derrz a hefe' in my seeeet"

Wow, I guess I should log in here once in a while. Since I am not a goalie any more , I find the need to come on here diminished. I greatly miss playing between the pipes, however have found a renewed sense of elation by slowly becoming a big right winger. And when I mean slow, I mean SLOW.

It has taken a while to get used to playing out. I need to improve alot to try and keep up with some of these guys, but I am having a blast!

Health wise I am well. Had a bout of headaches in the few weeks past, but they seemed to have subsided. My next MRI is in October, so until that time I am enjoying life as best as I can (still looking for that perfect job that will employ a partially blind brain tumor patient that cannot drive). But I am still keeping up hope that something will come along.

I do hope all is well with everyone. And anyone playing in the ASHL on Thursdays, beware of this big, lumbering forward that is going to park his big behind in front of your net and set up office!!!

Jim,

Wanted to say thanks again for the great advice and and support you provided when my dad got sick. To give you a brief update... the surgery seems to have been a complete sucess. He's pathology reports came back completely clean. To be on the safe side they decided that they would put him through radiation any way. (I think this was just starting last time we PM'd. ) He quickly got over the problems of wearing the mask. His treatment was a lot more draining because it was his mouth and throat that were being zapped. (There's not pain receptors in the brain right?) His tongue and mouth got so sore he had trouble eating and speaking. He completed the treatments on the two weeks ago and is slowly getting his energy back.

Man, that is good to hear. I know that you had said that he was having a bit of difficulty and was uncomfortable, but good news always makes difficult things a little easier to bear. Plus, you had told me in a roundabout way that he is tough as nails, so there was never a doubt.

Glad to hear all is going as well as can be hoped for. I will keep sending a few prayers up for him regardless.

Jim, So glad to hear your spirits are high. I'm guessing your game is about par with mine, but at least you know how to stop. And remember, you're not a slow skater, you're just "going to where the puck will be" (nod to Gretzky). They all come back to you if you wait .

Don't forget us thru the summer, and be sure to keep us posted on the next MRI results. I know the first thing Sean did was move his patch to his new teams' jersey. We're all still thinking of you.

P/S & Sean

I'm happy to hear that you are at least able to play a little hockey.I find your attitude quite amazing and hope that you are able to keep being so positive.Your support during my son's ordeal was and still is very much appreciated. We are thinking and hoping that he will be going the same route this year and play out where there is less pressure.
