Jim out of...oops...BACK in surgery
Yes, you heard it right lads and ladies, I am in for another round of pumpkin surgery on October 29th. They are going to open me up once again to root around in whatever I have left of a brain.
I had some severe migraines every day for about 2 weeks last month and decided it would be wise to call my surgeon and schedule an MRI. Less than 2 weeks later I get an MRI and the results and it appears as though, although the thing in my head has not grown, it has "shifted" a bit and is creeping towards another hemisphere of my brain.
Needless to say my surgeon was a bit concerned and decided it would be wise to go after it a bit more aggressively. He may even try and fully resect it depending on what he sees inside the OR. My surgeon said that they have to find out exactly what it is so they can treat it peoperly and effectively. Saying that, there is now a "distinct possibility" I will lose eyesight to the left of both eyes based on where it is and how aggressive they have to be to get a piece of it for biopsy. Basically, if you are reading, you would have to shift your entire head to the left to look at the beginning of the next sentence.
Although I knew this day may come, I did not expect it to be this soon. Things were going well, I was playing hockey and living as normal as possible. Now this. It has thrown my life into disarray and despair. Back to months of recovery and the possibility of not playing hockey and not being able to drive ever agin.
I guess this is part of the reason I am writing this. Although I am not a needy person and quite low maintenance, I am desperate for some support. As the last time, any words you can offer or any questions you have, please do so as I am feeling very low right now.
As always, thank you my brothers and sisters.
Jim

Sorry to hear this. All I can say is never forget what you have for your user title, "Survivor." That's exactly what you are. You've had to look at the darkest possibilities life has to offer and you've faced them and defeated them. This is just one more battle to test you. Like a shooter breaking in from center don't let this beat you. We're all here for you.

No good way to find out that news, Jim
Here's hoping that they aggressively biopsy the hell out of it. No matter what, remember that you have a lot to live for. We're all looking forward to your next success story
Also, when you call your head a pumpkin, it reminds me of this:
We're here for ya, bud.
