Ipod Dead, tried to Reset

So long story short, I was at the gym last night, then my Ipod died, I figured it was just needing a good charging. I realized that the apple logo remained on the against the black background.

So I googled, and found some topics about the hard reset. For my Ipod (nano, not the newer ones), it involved holding the menu and select button, after that, hold the rewind and the select button. This would then bring you to the diagnostic menu, and the last option of this diagnostics was to "reset". I tried again and again, and everytime I click "reset" it just goes back to the apple logo against the screen.

Apparently it has worked for other people when the "reset", but maybe mine is dead. Anyone have any opinions/suggestions. I just don't want to buy another Ipod.

Thanks in advance.

Mine did this about 4 times already. It's really annoying but it's not dead. Let the batteries die and then plug it into your computer and it should start back up.

anytime mine freezes or something i just hold the menu and select button together and that will turn it off. then i just turn it back on by pressing menu.
your problem sounds a little more complicated though if you were getting different screens by pressing different buttons

Same thing happened to my buddie but this fix may not work for you.

He too was angry and couldn't reset it.

So he took it to the range and went to shoot it with his AK.

Hi knicked it and took a chunk out of the side.

He picked it up and it was running and has worked fine ever since.

True story, Hand to God!!

So it seems like Spidey's method is the way to go so far. But I think I'll try Zay's method of letting it die down battery wise first then I'll start to worry about. I tried to reset again and same thing. Blah.

That's good I still have some gift cards to Best Buy.
