Swedish saying: better late than never
I've been on the board for about a year now, but I have not made that much noise. I've been more of an observer, an observer who have been observing almost every day for about a year
Anyway I thought it would be time to say Hi, so here it goes:
Hi! My name is Viktor and I'm a dedicated goalie who's trying to be as good as I possibly can. I love the gear almost as much as the game, even though I'm stuck with old Velocity pads and Blockade gloves. Looking forward to update those with some 8k turco breaks. If I only had the money...

New...
Hello,
I am a new... My name is Krystof. Really, I am not a goalie, I am a man who several times a week wear a goalie gear trying to stop the puck. I am near 39 and I am from Prague, Czech republic, Europe.
I have many questions to discuss but first I have to go through forums for not repeat the questions.
I have got a nice set of vaughn catcher/blocker velocity 7000, Vision 3700 C/A, Vision 3700 leg pads and ... Bauer 1000 helmet with cat eye non certified cage.
My English is horrible, I know and I am sorry, but my wish to share my doubts and questions is stronger.
I would like you all to allow me to enter to your community.
Thanks
Krystof - Kristoff

Introduction
As with many of the people above me, I have mainly just been snooping around here and there, but now that my season's over, I have more time to actually post
Anyway, I'm Jackson, 17 years of age, and love to goaltend. Nice to be a part of an awesome resource of goaltending information (for the most part! haha)

Thought I would introduce myself as well. I have been an observer of this forum for quite some time but felt like I had more to learn than I did to offer so I hadn't joined yet. Decided it was time to get involved and ask questions and try and learn as much as I can. I am amazed at the amount of knowledge to be had on this forum.
I started in net when I was 18 (very late to start I know). I played for about 5 years before a non-hockey related knee injury took me out of the game for about 6 years. I just am getting back into it in the last year. I missed playing SOOO badly when I was out. I have never had a coach or lessons of anything like that. I just go out on the ice and do anything I can to make the saves. I am a student of the game and just trying to absorb as much knowledge as I can.
Oh my name is Adam and I am out of Minneapolis, MN

Hi there!
I'm Erik and I will be 30 on October. I play hockey since 5 and became a goalie at 24 year old. Don't be fooled , only a few months later , I was standing tall on the crease. Thanks to motivation , good natural butterfly , good mobility and fast reflexes.
I was a player , I am a goalie and I am still a player but I'm a true goalie. When I did decide to stop the game for about a year , on September of the following year, 5 year ago , some guys did ask me if I would be willing to be on the crease if they would rent the goalie gear for me. I say yes. I did try 3 times with that cheap pro shop gear... And so I make the choice , become a goalie. There was only one condition : wearing what the pro use only , period! This is how I did start , and you know , with the internet , I won't cost you 4500$ to get started with the best stuff!
My first choice was Brian's gears. The netminder I've try to learn from was Belfour and I remembered him at some point with Brian's leg pads. So to give you an idea about my game , after a few weeks , my first goal equipement was completed ; Altramax pads , Airthief gloves , Bauer 3000 skates , Itech PS2 mask , blockade pro pants , Koho pro jock and Eagle fusion A&B.Got some Sherwood sticks and I was set for about 2500$ all brand new ! The only things I still use after my first 5 seasons are the skates and mask. I've put a pro non-cat eye 950 cage for a few months until I brought a Koho 570 cat eye cage later this season.
I guess I've talk enough for now... I'll try to explain what my nick name Full-left means sometime later. Hello to everybody and thanks for this great forum !
By the way , do you guys play 3 on 3 tournaments like we do here in Quebec ? You know what it is : 3 on 3 with one next + the goalie and 2x 20 minutes period. Some special rules for the game of course...

Hi there,
I'm from Riga, Latvia, 40 years old. Late start in the net three years ago, recreational. Gear: TPS Xceed II Pro pads, catcher and blocker, Koho 590 CA, Frontier stick, Bauer skates, Vaughn Epic 8800 jock, Itech mask, Sher-Wood pants. May play is still quite incosistent, I can do two good games in a row and then comes the next one when I fall for 7-8 and more shots, most of them being totally 'soft'. Working on it.
Besides hockey, I'm a book-worm, music lover, mountain climber and alpine skier/fun-carver, lately moving on to add snowboarding to my list.
Going to use search feature frequently here

Didn't realise this thread existed, would have posted on it sooner
My name's Rebekah, I'm 21 and I've been playing ice for about a year. Played roller for 3 years on and off before that, but could never take it seriously due to a hectic Software Engineering course. I've really fallen in love with ice hockey and am constantly thinking about how to improve my game. I hope to make the Irish women's national team, though I usually prefer to play with guys (I'm the only girl on my regular season team) - as the interest in, and subsequently the standard of, women's hockey is fairly low in comparison here.
I've got a lot out of this BB in the past when purchasing gear, and decided it would be good to make myself a part of the community here.

Vaughn's my favorite and that's what I have now (V2s). But, I have a set of the new EPIC 8800s on order to come in soon! Later.

I am...
I am Matt...
I was once a member here before I took 2 years off (aka: wvuviv30). I live in Southern MD played for a team called Chesapeake Chiefs out of Odenton/Crofton, MD and after I graduated college I played 5 years for West Virginia University on both the D1 and D2 teams.
Now after college, I work on a navy base as a Computer Tech and I own a small sound reinforcement company that specializes in Live Sound ( Matt Viv's Live Sound, we are your premier source for Sound Reinforcement in Southern Maryland.).
Yes I took 2 years off of hockey, but I am now getting back into it.
