You have clearly missed the last 4-5 ages in this thread.

Why do you think USA went to Iraq?

make sure you base it out of dubai or some other off-shore locale - you dont want to be paying taxes on that "hard earned" dough...

I asked if anyone knew the current mission statement or military objectives? I don't think making money is an acceptible answer no matter how badly you view the U.S. and it's business and military ethics. I will inquire elsewhere. My personal opinion on why the U.S. invaded Iraq? First off I really don't believe the full reason(s) has been been fully disclosed. I think the U.S. invaded Iraq under the pretense of finding WMD's in order to justify the invasion but that it may have been to stablize the Mid-East and to establish forward bases for future potential conflicts in this region having to do with balancing the power between the Saudi's, Israel, Iran, and all the bit players in the region. This is just my opinion based on conversations I have with people who are in the war business. My opinion and only of value to me.

I actually think you are a little right but the difference is that I think that main cause was money and oil.

Swedish he is trying to be funny and lighten the conversation. He is also in the military so it would be difficult for him to back any of the views of admitting that Iraq was a huge blunder and getting the hell out.

Goaliedad has probably hit on the most hidden reason for the war and that was to create chaos in the Middle East. When you consider what that has done for the huge corporations it is plain to see that money and profit was also part of the equation. I also believe that is why Bin Laden has not been pursued. If we captured him in the late 01 to early 02 there Homeland Security and all the other various expenses would not have come into play. With Bin Laden lurking in the shadows fear is always there for the Bush adm. to use as their ace in the hole.

That's why I thought it was funny, because I imagined that you lived in bizarro world where everything is weird or where nothing makes common sense, and I imagined that you fit in very well.
