Totally agree. I think like a two strike policy for any crime would do fantastic to "kill crime".

Rapists of any kind sicken me and a child rapist even more so but I would be concerned about the point raised in the article:

"Death penalty opponents say Louisiana is the only state to actively pursue lethal injection for child rapists, and argue, among other things, that it could give attackers a reason to murder their victims.

"If they're going to face the death penalty for raping a child, why would they leave a living witness?" said Judy Benitez, executive director of the Louisiana Foundation against Sexual Assaults."

I say castrate them, put them in prison, tell everyone in the prison what they did and take away all the KY jelly. Lifetime of violent sodomy might be worse than death!

YES X100 making rape a capital crime will result in more murder, it's as simple as that.

Making death the likely punishment will absolutely increase the incidence that they'll kill the victims. Making castration a mandatory punishment will absolutely increase the incidence that they'll rape more often than otherwise.

I don't see either of those two punishments working out, even though superficially they sound nice.

All sexual predators are pretty much unable to be rehabilitated, therefore they are a waste of their own lives and should be terminated or at best used for medical testing.

Of course there are some interesting cases where people get charged as a 'sexual offender' but I believe you all know what I mean.

Yes, my stance is controversial...but it is my stance.

PS: One need not have genitalia in order to sexually violate someone.

Or the opposite could happen where these people know they will not get a slap on the wrist and will stop before they engage in the act.

Death or long jail sentence where you will most likely be killed or maimed by other inmates who think it is a monstous act. Either way they will not want a witness.

I agree on the sexuak offender thing. Look at that boy in Georgia who was going to be on the sex offenders list for getting a BJ from a girl. Yet if he had sex with her it would have been fine.........

Plently of odd laws that result in one being placed on a sex offender list

There needs to be a better appeals process for the cases that make you scratch your head, but all in all, I wouldn't mind creative punishment for these... people.

My "favorite" ever is some guy on MSNBC's on the inside or what ever their prison show is was being interviewed he was in jail for rape of a minor or something like that and he actually looks into the camera and says

"Whats worse, to steal a loaf of bread or kill somebody, they are both the same"



WTF ?!

Anybody who abuses a child like that should not be shown any kind of mercy

stupid is running a red light or stealing some food because you are hungry. Stupid trying to use a fake license to get beer.

Raping a child is no where near as trivial a thing as a stupid offense.


Psychological problems are another thing to be argued. I am in the mindset that if you are that screwed up to rape a child then you have nothing good to give to humanity and should be put down. There is no recourse for you. no therapy. Nothing.

I was being more facetious than serious about the castration, but I am curious as to why you think they would rape more often?

I have a better idea.

Let them live.

Don't castrate them.

Medical testing, use them for AIDS research.

Give them the vaccine, put them in a room with 30 violent offenders with AIDS, and see how effective the vaccine is.

What's the worst case scenario? The vaccine doesn't work? Oh well.
