I'm still dubious about the performance of hybrids (and especially electric) vehicles in Canadian winters.
How good are these batteries and how are they going to perform in -35C weather? I mean, if my car battery has only 60% the cold-cranking amps in the winter compared to the summer, how are the hybrid batteries going to compare? And if a hybrid just uses the IC engine all winter, what's the point?
Oh, and in regards to the comments about the Tahoe hybrid getting 19/22mpg... isn't that a 50% improvement over the regular model? Sure, it's only an extra 7MPG, but the hybrid is only going to be burning 66% of the gas compared to the regular model.

1996 EV 1 if you can explain to me what GM was thinking with that deal I would appreciate it.
GM had a chance to not only improve the design and get a better range out of that car but they could have created a 4 passenger vehicle as well. Instead what do they do? Destroy all but one and take the car completely off the market. Big Oil? Don't know but that sure looks like a really stupid move on GMs part.
Crude is down to $126 a barrel whooo hooo. I swear by the way the TV talking heads are acting you would swear they are giving crude and gas away Are these people so stupid they cannot figure out it a temporary downturn in crude pricing. With the conflict in the M.E. consumption worldwide outpacing supply why in the world would crude go down?

BS. He has Chuck Norris and Lance Armstrong in the back, pushing. 0-60 in 3.2. And it's an H1. Unlimited mileage, and barely any emissions.

With all the babes Lance is nailing as of late, I doubt he has the energy to walk up stairs much less push a Hummer BTW I know a guy selling a $75,000 Hummer. It has been for sale for over a month and not one call much less offer. He thinks he will be $40,000 down from what he paid. Ouch.
I think I got rid of my Avalanche at the best time. Still had value and I got more than I thought I would. Wonder if it sold

Oh yeah, me too...me too
...but I'd settle for a large Tesla coil so I could emit enormous electrical discharges from my back yard, that would be sweet too.
(yes I said discharge)

I drove one of those while in NY, it was pretty nice.
I dont know how much savings you get in gas though.
My girlfriends parents both drive a hybrid lexus SUV and a Hybrid highlander. They average around 22-23 MPG each. Not much savings IMO
I guess for a car that size....but still not worth it again IMO

not very wise, if you had one goalie would you work him every night with 90+ shots or would you pace him so he lasts?
