During an interview with LiveDaily, guitarist Root expressed some discontent over the process of the record, stating that "it felt a little bit rushed. And it felt like we were trying to do things just to appease a schedule, which I didn't really like." On the subject of the record's producer, Root went on to say, "Dave Fortman really helped me appreciate Rick Rubin as a producer," and that, "[Fortman] wasn't able to get nine people together on the same page and, to me, that's the most important thing in making a Slipknot record." In an interview in the October 2008 issue of Guitar World, Root went as far as saying that Fortman didn't produce the album, adding; "I'd honestly have to say that he was really just a good engineer. He didn't do what I'm used to with producers." He then again expressed his frustration with the way the album came together, saying "I don't want to make another album the way we made this one; I just don't think it's a good way to make a record. I might as well have stayed at my house in Florida, and we could have FTP'd files back and forth."

Yah I can see that. You dont hear Sid much at all. Joey isnt that prominant. The 1st 4 tracks are balls out then it like falls off a cliff.

You say how much you love the band, you try to prove your "love" for them by getting the band logo tattooed on your arm, but then you can't spend he lousy $12 to support the band by actually buying the new album? Even worse, you brag about stealing from them in the same thread you just professed your love for the band. Pathetic!

could at least have bought the album on itunes!

You can't be a diehard fan of a band if you steal their music.

The song 'Till we die was preformed by shawn drumming, sid, corey, and james.

"Also for the first time, some members of the group separated themselves from the band to write some tracks. Vocalist Taylor and guitarist Jim Root paired up with turntablist Sid Wilson (performing on keyboards) and percussionist Shawn Crahan (who took up full drumming duties) to work on what was described as "oblique, arty pieces."Crahan would later reveal that none of these tracks made it on to the album. However, one of which, "Til We Die" does appear as a bonus track on the special edition."

I would think if your in a band as big as this, it's okay to mess around and try stuff like that, but to actually consider and release one of the songs that were played but a select few members within the band on your new album is wrong.

Please don't start these type of rumors with false accusations. Both injuries are VERY real. I realize you're not trying to do so, but this is how rumors start.

I watched Sid jump off the riser that night and land wrong. He left stage for about 15-20 mins before returning and finished the tour in a wheelchair/scooter with two removable casts on his leg.

At the Philly show I saw Joey hobbling out with what looked like a wrapped ankle while watching stage left. Then during the set Corey announced that Joey sprained his ankle. Turns out Joey was wrestling with Clown's kid and turned it. Sol (Joey's drum tech) showed me the photos of his foot and it was so swollen that it looked like Eddie Murphy as one of the Klumps. He ended up playing on it for a few nights and it got worse. They went and had it looked at with the results showing there was a small break. He continued playing on it, but on the last night of the tour at Darien Lake it was decided that they'd cancel the leg of the UK tour to allow Joey to rest the ankle. Corey was pissed off all night and whenever I would talk to him he would just be like "I'm fine", but I later found out he was extremely upset they had to cancel that part of the tour and disappoint fans. The band was getting along great on this past tour and there is no secret disputes.

Also Slipknot has never really written as a 9 piece ensemble. The songs are mostly written by Joey and Paul with Corey adding vocals and Clown adding opinions and what not. The other guys were usually brought in to record and got to add things here and there, but they aren't heavily involved in the writing process. Things were different with the process on this one. There was more encouragement for people to bring in material. For example Snuff is a song Corey wrote himself. So to say the way they did things are "wrong" when you really have no clue of the process and aren't a part of the band is wrong in itself.

Honestly I thought he still sounded really good, but I think that was what did him in. He overused it especially in Hartford from what I was told and ****ed it up more.

Good. That's what you should be doing. I get free CDs from bands I work for or am friends with all the time. If I genuinely like the CD I'll go out and buy it. Bands anymore need as much support as possible. While Slipknot is doing well, other bands are getting screwed by downloading. Guys can't take care of their families because people think stealing is ok. Just because the chances of getting caught and punished are next to nothing, suddenly stealing is alright. The records labels aren't the ones getting hurt by downloading any where near as much as the bands are. It sucks!
