TV Help - Sony projection TV

So I have a sony wide screen projection TV and yesterday and screen went crazy. Since I know nothing about TV's hopefully someone here can help me.

This is my TV
Sony KP-51WS510 Projection TV reviews - CNET Reviews

The problem is the screen is distorted and seems to be in double vision or almost as if someone were trying to make it look 3D. The colours are also very green and purple. I was looking on google and from my research it seems that this may be a very common problem, but it was hard to find anything that was very accurate. I tried to ake some pics if anyone wants to see but they aren't that great.

I am basically just curious if it is worth fixing or if it's just finished.

Anyway, any kind of help is much appreciated.

I hope you have a warranty on that bad boy. I just bought a 40" Sony Bravia, and got the 4 year full warranty on it. LCD screens are fragile as it is, and with a kid that knows how to throws stuff accurately, it's only a matter of time.

TV came in on Thursday but was broken in a million pieces out of the box, so I called the store and told them, and they said they'll order another one in. I said if THAT one comes in broken and I have to wait another week, I'm going to break everything in the store. He's ordering 2, so Thursday the new ones come in, and God help them if they are both busted.

If your mother board blew it will cost you quite a few hundred to have it fixed and thus is worthwhile to get new TV. If it is a bulb only then it will be anywhere from 2-500 for a new one. Contact a repair man if you are interested as it will be about 75 for him to look.

Otherwise just get a new flat panel.

Dre - Guess you have a good shop out there. I know most retailers around me do not offer warranty for damage only for manaufacture defects and such. For instance if your screen blows out it is covered. If your kid throws a marble at the screen it is not covered.....

Comprehensive, as it was called. I specifically asked them about the item throwing thing, as the kid just learned how to throw rocks a few weeks ago. Sources are suggesting I might have had something to do with that, but I say it's nonsense...

We had a similar picture issue with my father in laws old Sony big screen. It was a fairly simple fix. Cost us $100. in the end. I had two other estimates of $300. so make sure you call a few places. The module on the board that sync's the different colours from the projector to make a clear picture has likely gone and needs to be replaced
