Bingo. A great (or awful) example of this is "Dyer's Eve." The entire song is patched together and he's never been able to play the song with the double bass parts live. He rarely, if at all, ever does the double bass part in the first break of "Blackened".
Man, if we ever meet we need to get some beers and just shoot the **** about drums and metal and hockey.

Isn't XM 41 the Bone Yard or whatever? That's always hit-or-miss. 48's way too Nu Metal. 42 and 53 are the best things on there (XMLM (?) and Fungus).
My first, and coincidentally last, Metallica CD was Reload. I didn't understand why people liked them after I got it. Then I heard what they used to be and it made more sense. I eventually figured out that their new stuff wasn't worth it for me, but they still used to kick some pretty big ass.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Metal do not go together.
Worst thing about XM is the fact that so many artists/ songs are played on different channels. If I hear Linkin Park on Squizz (so called "metal")... why then is that exact song on Ethel (alt rock) ?
Thankfully there are 200 channels to skip around on.
Why even play the Chilli Peppers on satellite? I already have FM for that.

you dont want to hear dani california 3 times a day? the problem with the metal channels is there is no intermediate between the hair bands on 41 and the screamo bands on 42. poison, iron maiden, and pat travers are not a good playlist. i cant wait until some of the sirius channels make their way into the line up.

The problem is you listened to the Boneyard.
To me, the boneyard is one of the useless channels between XMU and the stations in the 20s.
Don't even get me started on the Jesus channels.

Sounds like a plan.....
I once read a article with Lars where he claimed that Metallica would play Dyers Eve on the next tour. If he was smart he would just sample his trademark cannon kick tone, input it into a Roland TD-20 and use kick triggers. Its not that he isnt doing them in Blackened, he is but his drums arent compressed enough to hear the faster double kick stuff because he's not hitting it hard. Personally I am against triggers on snares and toms for the most part but for metal, triggers on the kicks is the way to go.
