Yes. You want a kid to get calcium, what's the easiest way to do that? Give him a glass of milk. How many children do you know that are clamoring for a spinach salad and a cup of yogurt? How many children would you trust to swallow multiple calcium supplements without choking?

Adult women have many more realistic options to get their calcium than do children. Thus, milk doesn't need to play as big of a role in adults as it does in children.

Here's an article for those who think humans are the only ones who hold animal slaves or milk them.

Herding Aphids: How 'Farmer' Ants Keep Control Of Their Food

As far as PETA is concerned, I imagine their suggestion to Ben and Jerry's is mostly a publicity stunt, although I wouldn't put it past them to be that stupid, either.

I can't think of a less pointless existence than to be part of PETA, sitting around thinking (hmm; ruminating?) up these completely inane protests. Animal abuse is one thing, and I certainly can't condone that, but to cry and whine over an animal that couldn't care less about you, or its place in the world, is just stupid.

If Ben & Jerry's went for it, however, can you imagine the flavors they could come up with?
  • I can't belive it's not Mother!
  • Orange-in-a-sock Sherbet
  • Cherry Areola
  • Nipple-olitan
  • and for the Pam Anderson fans, Silicone Sundae

Holy crap! For once I actually agree with something that PETA says!

says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. "Everyone knows that 'the breast is best,'

Yes, yes, the breast is best! The rest of the article is craziness!

One man's "endangered species" is another man's "limited edition."
