I actually got a small bag with a plastic clip on it, put my wallet and keys in it, and clip it to the net I'm in. Its a bag that golfers use to hold balls and tees, apparently. I picked it up at a booth my credit union had setup at work so I just saw it as a small valuables bag. I just unclip it when I change ends, or when I'm done for the night.

A few locker rooms I have been in have had some pretty crappy lockers. Kids at my high school found that if you shook the whole bank of lockers, 3 or 4 doors would pop open. Those sheet metal lockers have quite a few flaws. Any combo lock, master lock, or key lock is easy to break into. We have to learn all kinds of forcible entry techniques at the fire department. Even the super case hardened locks, only the hasp is heavy steel. Most combo locks just need a good kick, or a good strike with even a small hammer and they are off, a solid twisting motion... it is really disappointing. The kid isn't lying, a small metal shim (do we really have to explain it?) will pop open the locks. Point of me divulging all this is... pad locks suck, get one with the smallest amount of the hasp showing as possible, even then... like the round type is a little safer. I just leave most stuff at home or in my car. When all else fails the following note taped to my locker or gear has helped...

"dear prospective bad guy/theif, I may or may not have crabs/ghonorrhea/herpes/genital warts. you might think of stealing these articles that have had my man-natomy all over them but you need to ask yourself, do I feel lucky... WELL? do ya? PUNK? (please leave jar of ointment and the fungal cream). THANKS... prospective theft victim"

Subbed for a buddy last night, and the guy that rented the ice couldn't find the rink rat, so he didn't get a key for either dressing room.

I was the last one on the ice, (but only by about 30 seconds) as I was told the icetime was at 7:15, showed up at 6:45 only to see the ice at 7pm. I felt bad because I couldn't find the key, and I had a bad feeling about leaving it unlocked, and sure enough, came back to the dressing room, and both rooms had been hit for all the cash. My bad feeling were partly relieved that he hadn't gotten a key for either room, as even though I didn't do anything, I would have felt guilty if I just hadn't found it........

Someone was smart enough to stay away from credit cards, rings, and watches (I had all three), and only took cash from the closest wallets to the door. Of course, it was the first ice time of the summer for this particular group, so a lot of them had the money to pay for the summer ice up front. (One lost $90 in my room, another lost $140)

I hate douchebag thieves.

I've had my gym locker broken into last summer, my gym buddy just had his broken into last week. Both times the locks appeared to be forced open, since they wouldn't lock properly after that.

All I lost was my wallet; after checking at the front desk I immediately called and canceled *everything*. Later that night I got a call from someone at the gym (my cell number is on my business cards), they found my wallet lying in a different gym locker. Nothing missing but cash.

At rinks it's second-nature to either lock up my valuables in tiny lockers that are publicly visible (on the bench, by the front desk, etc) or for the team to toss all their valuables into a bag and take it to the bench. At the gym I always just thought "it's locked, nobody's going to break in"... nope. Now I use the same kind of little valuables lockers at the gyms too.

My friend was another case; he's the nerd who wears cargo shorts to the gym and carries too much stuff with him during his workout (wallet, keys, blackberry, etc). He came back into the locker room and found a lot of his other stuff taken... gym bag, shoes, jeans, sports gear, etc. All they didn't take was his Hawaiian shirt... yep, told you he was a nerd.

At least this didn't happen to your locker

My locker and gym clothes were practically incinerated. Some nutjob decided to spray my locker with axe and light it on fire. The cans of body spray then proceeded to blow up.

Well you cna find out how to open up gym combination locks through videos on youtube.

In my highschool this happens every once in a while, where some kid brings his new Iphone, or 80gig ipod to school and shows it off before stuffing it into his locker. But usually stuff it stolen while the locker is open, and the person is showering.

In middle school we used to have to write our names on our shirts, and were forbidden to share cloths to avoid people stealing eachothers gym cloths lol. But in highschool you can get anything you missing by borrowing it from a friend, so theres really no need to take anything. That and, I know people, so they avoid my locker.

Writing this kinda puts how disgusting it is sharing gym cloths lmao. I guess its not as bad as sharing the towels.

Sucks though.

...for hockey I always use my goalie helmet bag and have everyone put their cell phones, wallets, rings, keys, etc..in the bag and the first person to hit the floor/ice will bring the "money bag" out. We also have a duffle bag for clothes so everyone puts their clothes in it.
