MTN Goaltending Videos

Finally...the videos that we have been promising for quite some time will be found in this thread.

The first video is a drill called Centre Shift with Stationary Pucks

YouTube - MTN Goaltending - Centre Shift with Stationary Pucks

The video comes from our morning goalie power skating sessions from our Top Prospects Camps. The first goalie is Graeme Harrington (graebee31) who will be playing for the UND Fighting Sioux this season.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Enjoy.

I think this is a pretty good reaction drill.... which could help some of the goalies who arent used to dropping down into a right or left vs just straight down. If you don't mind I would like to try this with the goalies I work with next practice.... see how they react to this.

Thanks Cujo_64 for the compliment. As long as we post videos on youtube, here and on our website viewers are free to copy the drills as they see fit. If we didn't share/"borrow" ideas from each other goaltending would not be the dynamic ever changing position that it is.

We just want to let people know that we will be posting more videos on youtube early next week, with links to those videos found in this thread. If you are wanting the objectives, description and breakdown of a particular drill we will be posting the links to our website. It is of utmost importance to us that we make sure that our website offers more than this sub-forum (no offense). Don't worry, the videos will be available for free just like a large number of our articles that we have written for our annual Goalie Manual.

Thanks for your patience. We will keep GSBB members informed each time a new video is posted and the description is up on the site.

This is an instructor favorite...but, not necessarily a favourite of the goalies (You'll see what we mean). Like eating broccoli, this drill is really good for goalies on many levels but it takes a lot of determination to ingest.

Video of shooting sessions...

MTN Goaltending now has several videos on our youtube channel of the Top Prospects Camps from the Summer of 2008 Shooting Sessions.

We just want to remind viewers/readers that all of our drills, aside from some initial skating and movement are done in the defensive zone as well as one full ice puckhandling/puckstopping drill per shooting session. The reason we can focus on doing all drills in the defensive zone is that we only take 6 goalies per Top Prospects Camp.

The shooters in these videos are playing Junior "A" (SJHL, AJHL, MJHl), WHL, CIS, NCAA and AHL.
