I haven't done anything in the way of buying or selling but,
Rex on puckstoppers loaned me a jim park video.

Goalieguy88 at civil goalies, made a tape of the Roy marathon on espn classic for me.

MD...yes MD has been very generous in sending me some materials including an amazing book on stanley cup playoff records.

I haven't done any deals with Racer, but I have met him, and I am extremely confident he would be excellent to deal with.

Sloth generously offered to give me his thighboards when I asked if he would sell them. I haven't recieved them yet, but I understand Sloth has been busy with a move, and I am 100% confident he will come through.

EDIT______________________________________________ _
Sloth offered these in around February of 04. As of late Aug of 04, I have never recieved these thighboards. Nice of Sloth to offer to give them to me, and I did offer to at the very least pay for the shipping, but ..........In the end I made some out of the thigh pads from an old pair of hockey pants. They turned out really well!

When I first made the jump to ice from floor, Hunster generously offered to loan me skates. I didn't take him up on it, but it was pretty nice of him

On the manufacturer side, Tony Priolo was amazing!!!

Bought used ******* Ultralights from Goalie Sponsor. Good price, better shape than they appeared in their pictures, and he shipped them before he recieved my check. Can't get better than that.

Sold my son's Itech pads to Leafy_1331, and she sent me a money order a full month before she knew the pads would be ready to ship. That's pretty good too!

I bought some skates from Gman29. The transaction was smoother than buttered teflon.

Great:
Numbah37
Fire1037
Chrispedgoalie
Kiksave

Really great.
Rx... waited longer for my payment than expected
Oldgoalie915... lowered price on ebay to even out shipping cost

Margianl:
Icequeen
Smith 1000 leg pads

I paid Jan 30th via paypal
I thought the pads were coming from Ca as the profile location says. After a couple weeks I figured they should of showed up by now and sent a email asking when they were shipped.
I was told the pads were sent feb 17th.

I finally received them APRIL 17th...with a post mark date of April 13th. Meaning I was lied to about the shipping date the whole time.
They also had battram thigh boards, not a big deeal...but I was never told this, or the fact that they were shipped from England and not from CA, as the profile says

Icequeen round 2:
Sold me the matching gloves at a discounted price, to make up for the marginal deal before. I recieved them in about 2 weeks.

Icequeen round 3:
smith glove/McKenney C/A

She was asking 120 for the glove, and 150 for the C/A
I offered 250 for both and she accepted my offer.
I paid via paypal around the first of august. About the 12th I recieved just the glove, so I sent a email concerning the C/A.Got a reply a few weeks later saying that it was shipped in a different box a few days after the glove. A couple more weeks later, I still hadnt recieved it so I sent another email with no reply. A few more weeks I sent another email about it, and finally got a reply a couple weeks after that. She says that the post office lost the package and would give me a refund of 100 dollars. If you do the math , she wants to keep 150 for the glove, which she was asking 120 for, and I haggled down another 10 dollars. Even after getting the " its been lost" email, I still havent had a reply in a few more weeks. Bottom line, in 3 months I dont have an item or even a reply for a fair refund.
I personally would NEVER do any business with her, no matter how good the deal sounds, because I never know when or if I'll ever get it

Great to deal with:

Davieboy (won an auction of his on eBay). He's very quick and professional. Good communication.

Marginal:

Icequeen. I bought goalie skates and waited over 2 months for them to arrive, like Bren. I was told that they were "remailed" after an initial mixup, but only AFTER I sent an e-mail enquiring about my skates. Poor communication overall. Having said that, I have been in contact with other people who have done business with her and they had no problems. At least the condition of the skates was as described.

Editted to add that the mailer of the goods was Icequeen's husband, who is stationed in England while Icequeen, who conducted all communications and money transfer, still lives in California. The problems may not have been her fault and the shenanigans might all have been caused by her husband without her knowledge. To me, there is a certain level of uncertainty of where things went wrong on their end.

I've done quite a few deals on here, without any bad results.

I don't remember them all, but some that do recall involved:

Skankin McGee
RobbF
Fletch
Iron goalie

Two guys that have gone above and beyond for me are Phil Maltese, and the long lost GoalieAtWork.

I have just bought a Brians C/A from

bc30

via ebay.

He was happy to ship to the UK for me, and even gave me a small discount for being a BB member !

Highly Recommended

Right back at you Matt - too bad about the duty, though

I also got some thigh boards (which I converted to thigh guards) from Hall the Wall - good transactions all
