MODERATION OF THE CLASSIFIEDS FORUM
All threads and posts require Moderator approval. We are not interested in seeing “some good deal” on ebay when a mask/pad/blocker is put up for auction when the current bid is $16.00 with only 9 days & 10 hours left in the auction. Further, we are not interested in seeing “funny” auctions because someone has overpriced &/or mislabeled an item. This forum is designed for people to sell their own gear to the board members.

SELLING OR TRADING MY GEAR (FS) (WTT), WANT TO BUY (WTB) (NO FEELERS)
Please post your own gear for sale. Threads titles should indicate FS (For Sale), WTB (Want To Buy), WTT (Want to Trade) and so forth. NO “FEELER” THREADS…Post a For Sale ad & put in items such as “OBO” or “Make an offer”.

Please also ensure that the subject line is filled with appropriate and specific information. For example, don’t just write “FS: Vaughn Pads” when “FS: 34” Vaughn Velocity Pads” would be more appropriate. The clearer your subject title, the more likely you are to have people read your thread & buy your gear.

Now the important stuff: The body of the post. First off, you must list the product, in detail, that you are selling. This includes color, make, model, and year if possible.

Next, you must outline the kind of use this particular product has seen. That means how long have you used it and what surface was it used on (ice, roller, street, etc.)

Moving along, you must note any and all physical blemishes. An acceptable description for this category would be, "The glove is in perfect condition with the exception of puck marks and a small tear along the bottom right of the T." Please note the last part as it is essential that you tell about any rips, cuts, tears, or wear, be it normal or abnormal.

You must also state your location. Your home address is not needed for obvious reasons, but something like "The San Francisco Bay Area, CA USA" is fine. Whether you live in Sunnyvale, Los Altos, Cupertino, Los Gatos, or otherwise is irrelevant, but at least tell us generally where you are.

Lastly, if you have pictures of the gear you are selling, post them. You can note that pictures can be e-mailed if you wish, but posting them up front would be preferred.

PRICING OPTIONS
Now comes the part of the asking price. Give us your asking price and indicate how flexible you are on it, how urgent you are to sell, and most importantly, the currency in which you are going to accept or the currency the asking price is in. This can be US dollar, Canadian dollar, Cambodian rial, etc.

re: “offers” or “obo” Clearly state this in the ad. Inclusion in the Title of the thread is preferred too. OFFERS are to only be conducted by PM/email.

BUMPING RULES
Once you have created a thread for all to see, do not “BUMP” it back to the top until after 72 hours after your last posting. Bumping your own thread up more than once every three days is excessive. We have a large amount of members on the board, give them time to read your post.

If you have information you forgot to mention, DO NOT make another post to intentionally bump your thread unless it has been 72 hours since your LAST POST, simply edit your first post and add the info there.

Since my work on the frontend for my new website is probably going to take a long longer than I had initially though (that's 5 trashed designs now), I feel like my webspace is going to waste. Due to this, I am going to be offering free image hosting to anyone making a FS ad.

Please use this only if you cannot figure out/unable to use free services such as Flickr, Imageshack, or Photobucket.

If you wish to take advantage of this service, please send me an email to . It will contain the following items:

1. The title of the email should be "GSBB FS Ad Pictures".
2. Include all images as attachments, not imbedded pictures.
3. You are agreeing to use these photos ONLY on the GSBB. Use on other sites will follow the removal of pictures from server.
4. You MUST include either a) a link to your FS thread or b) your GSBB Username + title of thread.

If you do use the service, please be considerate enough to inform me of when the items are sold so that I might free up enough space for other members.


I've added a video guide to using the Flickr service to host your images. This video capture assumes that you have a valid, working Yahoo! account.

The file is roughly 33MB in size, but may be streamed if your on a broadband account. The file is a .mov, meaning that Quicktime might be required for viewing. Enjoy.

We are introducing a new procedure for classified ads that are aimed to address the concerns raised by several members.

When you post a for sale thread or reply to a post in this forum, your thread/post will be put in a moderator queue for approval. Subject to the discretion of our moderators, you thread/post will either be approved unchanged, denied, or slightly altered. You may also receive a PM from a mod requesting changes.

I will be checking in new posts and threads at least three times a day. I'm going to try and hit 11:00am, 4:00pm, and 11:00 pm (all est). I'm sure I'll miss by 5 minutes or so here and their, but expect an inspection and load in around those times. I have no doubt that on slow days at work I'll be at it more, but expect a minimum of three a day. Several other mods have pledged to keep it up as well, so we should be able to avoid any bottle neck. PM me with questions.
