I am starting this thread with the final details for the
Toronto GSBB Sunday Night Clinics,
March 9, 16, 23 and 30th.
I have had a solid demand for these sessions and in order to manage and control the product
I am capping the enrolment at 18 goalies. There is a long waiting list, so please, if you are not 100% committed take a pass on these sessions and let someone else in.
Location:
Same as always, Canlan Victoria Park Arena (formerly New Centre Ice Arena) located at 3550 Victoria Park Avenue, Toronto. Map link:
ArenaMaps.com | Canlan Ice Sports (Centre Ice Arena) | North York | ON | Canada
Start Times:
Classroom video, theory and concept discussion
will begin at 6:30 pm and end around 7:30 pm. The room is located directly across from the Pro Shop.
In order to preserve the flow of discussion, we
will lock the door at 6:35 pm and further entry will be withheld until 7:00 pm. Please respect the start time and your fellow goalies who are there to learn - be on time.
We are on the ice at 8:00 pm and will be finished at 9:20 pm.
Basic Agenda:
The classroom discussion will be focused on the key concepts we have discussed in the past, but with more depth and with video examples. We will take on-ice video each week and will use this footage to discuss individual technique and areas for improvement.
The intent is to have a more detailed discussion of what works at your level of play. Since everyone in the group plays 'beer league' we will dig into what works for beer leaguers versus what works for those in the pro's. It is my hope we will all learn to think the game much more clearly after these sessions.
The major theme will centre around "connecting the dots", a broad concept I have coined to help goalies bring all the basic elements together in a coordinated strategy. Special emphasis will be given to reading and anticipating plays, appropriate technique selection, depth selection and much, much more.
The on ice sessions will be capped at 3:1 with 6 stations. The information we discussed in class will then be applied on ice so the concepts can be brought to reality.
We will maintain a goalie specific power skating element, as this clearly is the key to becoming a better goalie.
Payment Information:
Full payment is due as soon as possible.
A cutoff date of March 3rd will be in effect: if payment is not received by March 3rd I will remove your name and invite the next person on the wait list.
Preferred payment can be made by PayPal via my website. Here is the
Payment Link I have not updated the payment information yet, however, you can just use the "Buy Now" link and it will work fine.
Alternatively, you may pay by cheque but it must be in my mailbox by March 3rd. Mailing info is available on the above noted link.
The cost for the 4 sessions will be $260.00 (4x$65)
For those of you who cannot attend all 4 sessions, you are welcome to sell your spot to someone else but you will need to facilitate the sale yourself. Payment in full for all 4 sessions is required up front.
Please note, there are no refunds or 'credits' carried forward to future sessions.
Referral Program:
For those of you interested in saving money at future clinics, I have implemented a referral 'thank you' program.
My greatest source of business has always been referrals from my clientele. If you refer a new client my way, and we conduct a lesson together, I will deduct 30% off one future clinic session. If you have any questions, call or e-mail me for details.
Roster:
Please, if you cannot attend or have changed your mind, let me know asap and I will find a substitute for you. If you cannot commit to all 4 sessions, please, seriously consider giving your spot to someone else who wants to be there.
