Chakal's new gloves

I finally got my gloves today after 4 LOOOOOONG days of shipping! LOL Picked up the box at Purolator (it seems USPS tranfer their boxes to Puro when they cross the borders) and the box was light.

The gloves are very well made, the catcher is game ready, the blocker too. The blocker's palm isn't stiff even when just getting out of the box. Lots of cordura on both gloves, it's a weight saver.

Those are my first NHL legal gloves. I'll be OK with the blocker, but I afraid on how I'll react with a smaller catcher. You can see how I loosen-up my gloves' wrists to my liking.

First test run, Sunday night! Tomorrow, I wrestle with NWA TNA Rhyno (on the same show, not against) and Petey Williams and Alex Shelley.

Here are the pictures:

I'm loosing the wrist part to expand the sidewall and not having it contouring my forearm.

You can see above that I worked out my arms today! LOL

Wow. Sweet stuff Chakal!

The sidewall looks really big in the pic , but probably , its just the angle.

No, it's not the angle, It's because I'm loosing the wrist part to the max. So all that area expands since it's not "contouring" my forearm.

I have been using my VK7s for a few months now. You will love them...the smaller size isn't an issue at all. Pucks enter and don't get out!

If you don't love them, send them to NC!!

Yes it is standard. I was just mentioning that there's more cordura than most brands in stores and it's saving weight. I didn't asked for more cordura.

looks great.

I wore jason (keeps33)'s vk7 catch glove on thursday and really liked it. very light (esp compared to the big pre-lockout glove i wear now) and I liked the break on it, and also thought it was a bit easier to play the puck (not sure if it was due to the break or the size).

I'm actually gonna order a set from vortek as soon as they can grab me some pics (they have a set of my colorway; white/grey/black already made up)

Chakal:

Could you do me a favor and get a shot of the wrist pad in the catch glove? I remember a while back that another person's glove had this pad, and it went way far into the glove. Just wanted to see if they changed it.

Thanks!

Tried them for the first time Sunday night, but..... I had no shots at all on the catcher's side. Since my players showed up with 10 seconds left to the warm-up and forgot the pucks in the room, I wasn't able to catch one puck in the warm-up.

But, for now, I can say that NHL legal gloves help for playing the puck. You got a better grip with the catcher and since you got 1" less on the top of the blocker, your wrist moves better. So your "swing" to shoot the puck is better.
