These pads look pretty nice...but I'm sorry I have to say it - that graphic is such a rip off of the velocity 1 graphic

Listen Junior Vaughn Executive...
If you don't have something to contribute, STFU.
We all know you're the resident expert on all things Velocity, stick to what you (think you) know.

I hate it when people apologize before making comments like this.
That's like a girl saying "you're nice, but..."
Just sayin.

The V1 Graphic did have similar fang location as the VK7 the Vaughn Fang was much larger. The internal accent I can tell you has not relationship to the Vaughn Graphic.
Dink will confirm that.

OK, some similarity. Not identical.
Happy?

I have to say that color set-up looks amazing on that pad. Not all blk/wht/slvr pads look that sharp

The VK7 graphic is essentially the V1 graphic with a smaller bottom "fang". I'm not saying that Vortek is pulling a ******* or anything, but they're close.

I personally think the VK7 graphic is better than the V1.

There's a big difference between making a graphic that shares some of the same basic features (i.e. fangs) and getting a set of pads, taking them apart, and then making the exact copy and advertising that your pad is "just like the XXXXX pad only cheaper!"
Put yourself in the shoes of a pad manufacturer. Do you want a difficult to reproduce graphic as your primary graphic on a set of pads, or do you want something fairly simple but what people still like? Unless you do custom graphics, you want to keep it simple and repeatable. That being said, there isn't much you can do that hasn't been done or proposed and rejected.
Vortek didn't copy anyone's pad, they just have a graphic with some similarities. BIG difference between them & *******!

The Vorteks and Velocities and MAYBE close enoguh to see the resemblance in a two color scheme. But with three colors, there is no comparison. The pads themselves are very different as well.
wgeary, as hroark so eloquently put it, STFU. You have made it clear that you know Velocities, not Vorteks.

Were the V1's offered with a 3rd color option?
If not, then I think there is no comparison. I am not trying to squash your opinion, because you are certainly entitled to it, but I will ask not to derail this thread with this discussion any further please.

I am just happy, we are not being accused of copying the V3 graphic.

That graphic isn't worth copying in any way, shape, or form.
