No, mont never even entered my mind when we were discussing the colours for this set. Altho, they will match the jersey that I got from him several years ago pretty well. If I play in them this weekend I might just wear it.

The colours were because Marc was tired of making me gear in the same colours, navy, gold and grey for the accent. We switched it up and I went with something that my kids like because it reminds them of Superman. The tribute is to my paternal grandfather whose name I have embroidered on the gear. Not much and, like I said, meaningless to anyone but myself.
