Getting other goalies to buy Vortek...
Any of you other Vortek users managed to sway the purchases of other goalies? I've let three people use my Vortek glove. Of the three people, one bought a full set of gear, one bought a glove and the final third person tried the glove on last night and has vowed to go out and purchase one.
That speaks volumes to the quality and feel of their catcher... it's amazing!
Anyone else gotten others to pick up Vortek gear?

Gregan will get a very nice discount. He has really championed the product and I really appreciate it. In additon he has done it in a professional manner. Which I cannot say I did in our last phone conversation .

BUY MY PADS!! BUY THEM... BUY THEM!!!
Oh, if you buy in the next 13 minutes, you'll receive a nifty Vortek embroidered towel...
(Think I came on a little strong?)
Man, the product really does sell itself. Goalies in my roller league always want to know what I'm wearing, and I'll usually take some time to talk about my gear afterwards, and one thing that always keeps coming up, ok two, with the Vortek VK5 pads is "Man, those are LIGHT!" and "Whoa, look at the flex in these", I swear I can mouth the words once I let the guy pick up a pad, and it's on cue EVERY time. Well, 60% of the time, it's on cue EVERY time...

Everyone whos tried the VK7 gloves ive had loved em! Coldaccord liked em so much he bought a set. I think the gear sells itself once people get over the fact that it isnt a BIG name.

I had 3-4 guys lined up for full sets, but it never worked out.
I heard things have changed though.

I demo'd the Vk7 trapper and I now have one on order.
The other goalie on my team has a t5500 that is three or four years old, and he is completely ignorant. He thinks that it is a Velocity.
I can't wait to show him my new glove. I think he might end up buying one after all the good things I have told him about the Vk7.

I am the one that bought the full set after trying Gregan's mitts....best purchase I've made to date. I let one of my co-workers try my gloves and she ended up buying a VK7 trapper. It came yesterday and looks rad. Good job Marc.

Ive gone to great lengths to try and get guys around here interested in Vortek but this town is VERY trendy and for the most part, if an NHL pro aint wearing it, people around here dont care about it.
On multiple occasions Ive had guys try to tell me their garbage RBK 5K gear was better than my Vortek stuff or when they ask me what I paid for my set and I tell them theyre like "really?, what pros wear them?"
I know I convinced one guy to buy a Vortek glove and he loves it like its his child but aside from that guys around these parts wear whatever the pros endorse and I know this isnt the only town like that but youd think that being the thriving and well known hockey market like we are that guys would shop around a little more but nope. They walk into play it again and say "ill take an RBK ______ please" and thats it.
You see a few guys with Vaughn and TPS stuff now and again but trying to sell the "boutique" type brands on guys in this town is real tough. The catcher could be $100 and it could catch the puck for you and if it doesnt have a brand name on it, no dice.

I wore jason's old vk7 catcher and ended up getting a set of gloves soon after
I keep telling friends about the glove. I wish I wasn't so anal about my gear (i never owned new equipment until I was 18, family didn't have the money. so now i want to be the only one sweating in my gear. dumb and selfish, i know) cause I know I could convince my 10+ goalie friends to buy vortek
haha you guys should send out demo gloves

My VK7 glove arrived yesterday.. and I'm in love. Right out of the box it was broken in better than my 8 month old Premier II. I can't wait to get on the ice and try it out.

I've had a lot of people ask me about my gear, but they fall into two categories:
1 - Younger kids who think Rbk's are the end all, be all of goalie gear
2 - People who ask, then see me play, and fear the gear will make them sucketh like the not-so-old man with bad knees.
Tough sell either way. So I just stick to photoshopping gear for Marc on a moment's notice to do my part.
