I agree. For me it is zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, so boring, but it is their choice and congrats to the winner.

The resemblance is unexpected considering Marc said "In addition any graphic that remotely resembles another manufacturers past or present will not be considered." And before people try to read into this, there is no bitterness toward anyone, well, except maybe myself for not getting off my butt and submitting an entry during the extension.
Aside from that though, I think a set in all white with red or navy blue only where the red is in his design (or maybe just where the brown is) would look very sharp.

That's also the first thing that leapt to mind when I saw it.

We were only looking at pads of today. To try to research every graphic used over the last 20 years would have been impossible.

If you order it in a solid color, it'll look too much like those old Coopers!

I find that graphic pathetic really, extremely derivative and played out, although I def prefer it to the more "complex" graphics seen on some pads like the newer Itechs, V3s, Alite (vomits), and the Eagles designed by an average Joe. Companies seem to think making their graphics more complicated is the only way to make them different, this one is obviously more simple but just ends up being mediocre, don't really get people's saying things like "gorgeous" and hooing and hawing about it, these reactions don't seem very real.

if you go back and looks at the original images. there is a color combo that shows it better. the extra triangle near the top that isn't on the above images makes all the difference.

This graphic is just too plain, they said they wanted a "new look" and something original, Thumbs down for this one!

I don't want to be a hater, and I think the design works, but it doesn't really make me want to buy a pair. When I see the graphic it reminds me of a flipped around Bauer reactor youth pad graphic, and I wouldn't want to envision a entry level pad with something that is supposed to be a pro pad.
However, what will make or break the pad is the physical design engineering of the pad itself. If the pad looks good enough in 3d, it won't need graphics

You have to realize that a lot of you are looking at the pad with a very critical, subjective eye. What this graphic is is simple and clean. Is it the greatest thing to ever go on a goalie pad? Likely not, but it's solid and definitely fulfilled the contest requirements.

I personally dont like it. I was going to try Vortek. I have Smith and I want to try the different small companies. This, makes me not. I know graphics dont stop pucks but it influences most peoples decision.

I don't understand what the fuss is about. I like the graphic and think it's a step up from the graphics used on the previous two models.
If you are upset that your graphic did not win, get over it. If you did not enter one then don't be a critic. Just say congrats to the winner and move along. After all it's just a graphic, and graphics don't stop pucks. Which leads me to asking, if that's the Vortek mantra why the hell is there a thread with people condeming the graphic?
